Default Usernames and Passwords for Routers

How do I find out what my default username and password is for my router? Below is a list that will help you determine what the default username and password is for your brand of router. You will notice most manufacturers have similar settings. How do I find out what my router IP address is? For your convenience I have also included the default IP address of the most common routers sold in retail outlets. Just remember the easiest way to retrieve the routers IP address is by running a system command called ipconfig to run ipconfig do the following:

• Hold down the windows logo key and at the same time press the R key on your keyboard.
• When the run box opens type in cmd and press OK or enter on your keyboard.
• When the black DOS box opens type in ipconfig /all
• Scroll down the list and record your IP address. If your IP is similar to this 192.168.1.51 then your router IP address is 192.168.1.1. Your router is always the first number after the first 3 sets of numbers, and every computer on your network comes after the router. For example if your router has an IP address os 192.168.1.1 your computer would have an address of 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.1.3 or 192.168.1.4 and so on. The only exception is Telus routers, they all have an IP address of 192.168.1.254

Telus Routers

The default IP address for a Telus router is 192.168.1.254. The default username is blank and we don’t mean type in blank, just leave the field blank, the username could also be admin and the default password is telus or Wireless.

Belkin Routers

The default IP address for a Belkin router is 192.168.1.1 The default username is blank and the default password is admin.

DLink Routers

The default IP address for a DLink router is 192.168.0.1 The default username is admin and the default password is admin. The default username could also be blank and the default password could be admin or they could be admin and blank

Linksys Routers

The default IP address for a Linksys router is 192.168.1.1 The default username is admin and the default password is blank.

Netgear Routers

The default IP address for a Netgear router is 192.168.0.1 The default username is admin and the default password is password.
