How To Manage and Configure Services on a Remote Computer

The following process will work on PC's and Servers. Sometimes you need to see what services are running and or not running on a remote machine. You could remote into their machine or you can try the following if you have Administrator access and priveledges on the remote computer:

• Hold down the windows logo key and then press R on your keyboard. When the run box launches type in MMC and press Enter
• In the console window click File and then Add/Remove Snap In
• Scroll down to services on the left side and then highlight, click Add
• In the new pop up window click Another Computer Button
• Type in the Remote PC Name/Server Name and then click Finish
• Click on Ok
• Click on the services, and if you have the proper credentials you will be able to manage the services on the remote computer.
