Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0: Pretty much does what it says, it caches fonts in certain applications. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is MANUAL.
Windows Remote Management (WS-Management): Service enables remote management of the computer. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is MANUAL.
Windows Search: This is the famous windows indexing service with a different name. Resource hog is what comes to mind. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is AUTOMATIC.
Windows Time: Synchronizes your time with an online service. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is AUTOMATIC.
Windows Update: Service for downloading patches and service packs from Microsoft. The optimal setting is AUTOMATIC and the safe setting is AUTOMATIC.
WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service: Implementation of the stack for http. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is MANUAL.
Wired AutoConfig: The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is MANUAL.
WLAN AutoConfig: This service manages connections and lists wireless adapters. Also manages profiles of adapters and is needed for wireless networks. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is MANUAL.
WMI Performance Adapter: Library information provider for windows management instrumentation. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is MANUAL.
Workstation: This service maintains your internet connection. The optimal setting is DISABLED and the safe setting is AUTOMATIC.
