virtual memory settings

This article will describe how to change virtual memory settings for increased system performance.

Click on start and then right click “Computer” and choose “properties” as shown below.

Click on “Advanced System Settings” as shown below.

Next in the system properties dialog box click on “settings” under advanced as shown below.

In the performance options window under the advanced tab click on “change”.

Uncheck “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives”.

If you have 512MB of RAM set the minimum amount to 1.5 times that which would be 768MB. Next set the maximum amount to 3 times your physical RAM, in this case we would set it to 1536MB. Click on “OK” and you are done, reboot your system as requested.
